Who is Jesus? If that simple question were posed to you this very moment, how would you answer? Many of us would draw upon our vivid memories of Sunday school classes, filled with flannel graph boards and Children’s Bibles to paint a picture of a meek and mild, always patient, precious moments figurine Jesus, complete with teardrop eyes and freshly-washed light blue robe. In reality, however, Jesus was much more complex. Sometimes, Jesus was angry. More than once, Jesus engaged in heated confrontations with people. Given the crowd with whom Jesus associated, He likely was not a quiet hermit. Toward the end of the 20th century, Philip Yancey wrote a book on this topic that has quickly become a Christian classic.
Join us Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Gathering Place as we take a close look at the life of Jesus through the lens of Yancey’s The Jesus I Never Knew. There may be more to this man than you think!
